<p class="ql-block">In today's globalized world humanity is more connected than ever. Information, data, funds and people move freely and easily to all corners of the globe. All kinds of exchanges and collaborations are parts of our lives. 在當(dāng)今的全球化世界中,人類的聯(lián)系比以往更加密切。信息、數(shù)據(jù)、資金和人可以自由移動,輕松到達(dá)世界的所有角落。各種各樣的交易與合作成了我們生活的一部分。</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">Communication and collaboration with other cultures are crucial but it can be deeper only by learning to appreciate each civilization's genius and contributions to humanity. </p><p class="ql-block">Understanding others' uniqueness improves our togetherness.</p><p class="ql-block">跟其他文化進(jìn)行交流與合作很重要,但是要學(xué)會理解每一種文化對人類的影響與貢獻(xiàn),這種交流與合作才能進(jìn)一步被深化。理解他人的獨特性以提高我們的凝聚力。 </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p> <p class="ql-block">This teaching project aims at raising students awareness of other countries' art and creativity by making a song that blends musical elements if various origins. This project will allow students to have first hand experience with what foreign civilizations enjoy and consider beautiful.</p><p class="ql-block">這一教學(xué)項目旨在通過制作一首融合來自不同國家的音樂元素的歌曲以提高學(xué)生對其他國家的藝術(shù)和創(chuàng)造力的認(rèn)知。這一項目將使學(xué)生直接體驗外國文化所欣賞和認(rèn)知的美麗。 </p> <p class="ql-block">Through this project, students acquired various skills.</p><p class="ql-block">We started with the basics: learning the English names of different musical instruments that were used in the project.</p><p class="ql-block">通過這一項目,學(xué)生獲得了不同的技能。我們從基礎(chǔ)開始:學(xué)習(xí)本項目中使用到的不同外國樂器的英語名稱。 </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">Then they learned to play basic melodies with those instruments. And in the process enjoy those foreign of art by trying to make the best melodies they can make and have their classmates vote for what they consider the most beautiful one.The last skill the students learned to play in tandem and the melodies they played were their own creations.</p><p class="ql-block">之后他們用那些樂器學(xué)習(xí)演奏基礎(chǔ)的旋律。并且在通過努力創(chuàng)作出最好的旋律以享受這些國外藝術(shù)的過程中,學(xué)生們可以讓他們的同學(xué)進(jìn)行投票,選出他們認(rèn)為最美的一段旋律。我們通過讓不同的孩子首次體驗敲鼓而創(chuàng)作了這首歌曲。每一個孩子做出一段特定的節(jié)拍,并將所有的節(jié)拍記錄下來。隨后學(xué)生們在聽過同學(xué)的打擊樂節(jié)拍后選出他們最喜歡的一段。</p> The same process was repeated with the other instruments until all elements of the song were ready.<br>用不同的樂器重復(fù)這一相同的過程,直到這首歌的所有元素都已具備。<br>The next phase was rehearsal and I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the students were able to play so well and in perfect harmony.<br>下一階段就是排練,而學(xué)生們能在短時間內(nèi)將這一首歌演奏得如此好、如此和諧給了我非常大的驚喜。<br>The last skill the students learned to play in tandem and the melodies they played were their own creations.<br>學(xué)生們學(xué)著協(xié)作演奏的最后一種技能和他們演奏的旋律就是他們的作品。<br> <p class="ql-block">In this project, kids makes make a song that blends instruments of various origins, compose their own melodies and play the whole song.</p><p class="ql-block">在此項目中,孩子們制作一首融合不同國家的樂器的歌曲,作出他們自己的旋律,并演繹了整首歌曲。</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">The music instruments are the following:<br>樂器如下:<br>Sitar (String instrument - India)<br>西塔爾琴(弦樂器——印度)<br>Tabla (percussion instrument - Egypt)<br>塔布拉手鼓(打擊樂器——埃及)<br>Kalimba (thumb piano - Africa)<br>克林巴琴(拇指琴——非洲)<br>Electronic Drums (United States)<br>電子鼓(美國)<br>Ocarina (ceramic flute - China)<br>陶笛(陶瓷長笛——中國)<br>Synth Arpeggio (Synthesizer - international)<br>合成琶音(合成器——國際)<br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">The sitar sound was sampled from a live concert of a an Indian sitar master, and played through an electronic instrument that plays snippets of audio.</p><p class="ql-block">西塔爾琴聲選樣自一位印度西塔爾琴大師的現(xiàn)場音樂會中,并通過一種能演奏音頻片段的電子樂器進(jìn)行演奏。<br></p><p class="ql-block">Same method was used with the Egyptian tabla. I purchased real kalimbas that kids played live. Electronic drums were played through a drum machine, ocarinas are real instruments that kids already have and finally the synth arpeggio sound was made with a computer software. </p><p class="ql-block">埃及塔布拉手鼓也使用了同樣的方法。我買了孩子們現(xiàn)場演奏所用真正的克林巴琴。運(yùn)用一臺電子鼓機(jī)演奏電子鼓,陶笛是孩子們已經(jīng)擁有的真正的樂器,最后合成琶音的聲音是由電腦軟件制作而成。<br></p><p class="ql-block">The whole song is a combination of real instruments, computer and electronic music instruments.</p><p class="ql-block">這整首歌就是真正的樂器、電腦和電子樂器的結(jié)合體。<br></p> <p class="ql-block">The final achievement of the kids was a song that they composed themselves and played together. They enjoyed basic forms of other countries art.</p><p class="ql-block">孩子們最后的成就便是這首他們自己創(chuàng)作并且一起演奏的歌曲。他們很享受其他國家藝術(shù)的基本形式。<br></p><p class="ql-block">The Happy accident that I witnessed in this experiment is that some students discovered talents they weren't aware of, mainly in finger drumming and percussions.</p><p class="ql-block">在這次體驗中,我見證了一個小驚喜——一些學(xué)生發(fā)現(xiàn)了他們之前沒有意識到的才能,其中主要是在指鼓和打擊樂器方面。<br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p> <p class="ql-block">Here we can see the final stage where we incorporated traditional Chinese instruments (ocarina) and played along music made previously. These Chinese instruments were suggested by students. I didn't initially plan to use them. They are <span style="font-size:18px;"> the result of kids initiative. I'm proud of them.</span></p><p class="ql-block">在這里,我們可以看到最后階段,我們?nèi)诤狭酥袊鴤鹘y(tǒng)樂器(ocarina),并按照以前制作的音樂演奏。這些中國樂器是由學(xué)生提出的。我最初并不打算使用它們。它們是兒童主動性的結(jié)果。我為他們感到驕傲。<br><br><br></p>
