Planting trees</b></div><div>M: Eric, last week we have Arbor Day, which is a day to show gratitude by caring for trees, planting new ones, and simply getting outside and enjoying the fresh air and beauty that they provide. Make sure the hole is at least two times as wide as the root ball and deep enough for the root ball to fit so the top is slightly above with the surrounding ground.<br>2）Carefully position the tree in the hole. Be sure that tree is facing the direction that you want it to and remove any ties or burlap that came attached to the tree root. <br>3）Fill in the remaining space. Add loose soil and organic matter (optional) to the space leftover. Try not to add too much to one side, forcing the tree to tilt in one direction. You want it to grow straight and tall.<br>4）Attach the tree to a stake. Stick a stake into the ground and through the root ball. Then attach it loosely to the trunk of the new tree. <br>5）Water, water, water. Newly planted trees require more than more established trees. They grow on bushes not trees.<br>They smell very sweet. Each individual flower is small, but they grow in clusters to produce an abundant display of blooms. Their colors include white, pink, and purple.<br> E: Mommy, what is that big beautiful pink flower on that tree?<br>M: That is a magnolia. Japanese magnolia is white. Magnolia is an icon of early spring. It has large flowers.<br>Normally it has 6 very large petals. They only bloom for a couple of weeks and then fall off the tree. 說實(shí)話，桃花，梨花，杏花還是傻傻分不清楚，印象最深的還是連翹和迎春花確實(shí)是不一樣的，雖然都是黃色的小花，哈哈。 平時(shí)在路上，媽媽有刻意觀察過校園里花朵的種類，所以提前在網(wǎng)上搜了對(duì)應(yīng)的圖片，查了英文學(xué)術(shù)名，每找到一種就讓Eric貼個(gè)sticker，描述下花的特點(diǎn)。有些花名讀起來(lái)好繞口，Eric說聽起來(lái)像咒語(yǔ)，笑了一路。 元阳县|
